I woke up at 02:00 yesterday to the fury of the arctic wind. It had my bed shaking, my house swaying, and the lights across town flickering. Without even looking out the window, I knew we were about to experience Iqaluit’s first blizzard of the season. For the next fifteen hours, we were without power and partially housebound due to the 100 km/h winds. That being said, we were also off work and with camera (weatherproof lens included!). So, here is my view of yesterday’s premature snowstorm. With these photos, I welcome winter (ie. Iqaluit weather) into my life for the next eight months.

October 8th, people; October 8th.
In Iqaluit, we celebrate White Christmases, Thanksgivings, Easters, and even Fourth of Julys.

Thanks for checking out the blog and commenting, Kevin! Justin misses you, too

I sure do! It helps keep the cold from getting into the rest of the house…sort of.

He is obsessed with the snow!
BEautiful photos Anubha! I’m going to ship my civic up there and drive it around when I visit #not #LOL
Haha the Civic and the Fit could compete for “Least Arctic-Appropriate Car Ever”.
