On the first Tuesday of every month (except this month it’s the second Tuesday), Finding True North highlighta one of the talented photographers who contribute to #nunagram, a hashtag for Instagrammers in Nunavut.
The concept is pretty simple. The Instagrammer gets a series of questions and then their answers are published here, pretty much unedited. This is a great way for our already strong Instagram community to get to know one another just a little bit better.

Tell us about your Instagram handle, @rogeralivaktuk.
It’s just my name! Some people know me as Tulugaq [raven] (namesake).
What do you like to photograph the most?
Hunting photos, land and scenery, dogs, and anything that catches my eye for a good keeper. Though I am still millions away from being a professional. Hahaha.
What is your favourite Instagram photo that you’ve taken?
Hmmm, it’s gotta be the Spring time seal pup hunting with my brother Aimo and #brothehuskydog who helps me find the seal holes and dens under the snow on the ice.
How would you describe your Instagram account to other people?
It’s just my way of the “more modern life” I live now, and what I think others all around might like to see.
What cameras and apps do you use to take and edit photos for Instagram?
Mostly the iPod 5th Gen and its photo editor, and the free app on the Instagram.
Why do you use Instagram? What do you like about it?
I love seeing a variety of photos from other people who I follow and anyone else whose accounts are “open” around the world and see their talents. It is also a great site to show a little of my side of the world.
