We are very excited to announce that we have been invited to speak at the Nunavut Press Club this week! We will be talking about our experience as Nunavut bloggers, from how we got started to how we think new media is changing the flow of information in the North. If you’ve never been to a session of the Nunavut Press Club, well, this might be a good time to start – and, there’s pizza ($2 a slice)!
Date: Friday, November 21
Location: Royal Canadian Legion, Pat’s Lounge (quiet side)
Time: 7:00 PM
Cost: $5.00 (free for Nunavut Press Club members)
The event is open to the public, but regular Legion sign-in rules apply. Doors open at 5:30 PM; pizza is served at 6:30 PM. We will speak from 7:00-7:30 PM, followed by a question and answer period.
For more details, or to show your support, check out the Facebook event!
Finding True North Elsewhere
Since we will be addressing members of the press, as well as people interested in journalism, we thought it would be nice to let our readers know about some places where we have written or been featured outside of the Finding True North blog. Yes, that’s right: our words and photographs have been validated by external media. Huzzah!
Interviews
As a couple of Northern bloggers, we’ve been sought out to talk about – what else – blogging in the North. Check out our answers via the links below.
